Shifty and gusty conditions were consistent throughout the day. Race 1 was O.K, but it was hard to decide which tactics to go for on the downwind, whether you wanted to head really deep and do traditional scopping pumping, or head a bit higher and try and get planing.
On our break on shore we had a visit from recent Olympic Gold Championships in the RS:X, Dorian from the Netherlands! He was around to sign your stuff and then we had a group photo of all the competitiors with him.
Once back out for Race 2 of the day, we were under postponement until the end of the Gold fleet race as the wind was shifting and the Race Officer couldn’t get a fair line. A false start also didn’t help. Again it was very shifty and tactics were hard, I finished better than in Race 1. My current overall standing is 4th in silver fleet which is great! I just need to keep it there!
