The forecast was very windy, getting up to 20 knots! However in reality it was only about 12 – 13 out there. This was great for me as I could plane easily and I didn’t need to pump permanently, making it slightly easier.
During the morning, one half of the course was much windier than the other, this meant that although we started first, our main section of the course was on the less windy side of the course allowing the other fleet to catch up with us by the finish!
In the afternoon it picked up a bit more, but I had a bad race so I didn’t get the result I wanted. Tomorrow is going to be make or break for whether I get into the Gold Fleet or not, but this is my first World Championships so I don’t mind too bad about where I come, though Gold Fleet would be nice.
